On Monday, June 22, 2020, Jubilee Party Vice-Chairman David Murathe issued a stern warning to Members of Parliament (MPs) planning to miss a virtual meeting of the Parliamentary Group (PG) at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

Murathe stated that MPs who skip the meeting will face disciplinary action, citing recent instances of disloyalty, insubordination, and disrespect towards the party leader.

President Uhuru Kenyatta convened the meeting of National Assembly members, but the agenda remains undisclosed to the media.

Insider sources suggest that the removal of Majority Leader Aden Duale may be on the cards, following a petition signed by 126 out of 179 Jubilee MPs against his leadership.

Amos Kimunya, the new Jubilee Coalition Secretary, has expressed that Duale should have resigned from the post instead of facing an embarrassing ouster, citing alleged disloyalty to the party leader.

Monday's PG meeting will be held at KICC starting at 9 am, following a similar meeting on June 2, 2020, where National Assembly Majority Whip Benjamin Washiali and his deputy Cecily Mbarire were removed from their leadership positions.
