On June 22, 2020, the National Land Commission (NLC) announced that it would facilitate the acquisition of 18 parcels of land along the Ngong-Kiserian-Isinya corridor for public use.

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority had requested the NLC to facilitate the acquisition of the parcels of land, which are privately owned.

According to a notice by NLC chairman Gershom Otachi, individuals and institutions owning the affected land are required to deliver a written claim to compensation, land ownership documents, and bank account details.

The move comes after Intex Construction, the contractor for the annuity road, admitted that efforts to finish the remaining three kilometres of the road had been delayed by land acquisition.

Despite the delay, Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia had promised that the road would be completed and opened for public use before the year ends.
