On June 21, 2020, Tanga Tanga MPs Kimani Ngunjiri and Oscar Sudi announced they would not attend the Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting scheduled for June 22, citing personal reasons.

Their decision comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta allegedly scolded and disrespected them in the last State House meeting.

According to Sudi, the president had failed as the leader of Jubilee and had clearly shown them that they were not stakeholders in his legacy.

"In every house, if the father cannot organise, the house will fall and we feel as if the father of Jubilee lost his way and that is why we will not go," Sudi said.

Kimani Ngunjiri also expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Uhuru treated them, stating that the president insulted them in the worst way possible.

"We went he insulted us. How can he abuse me with my mother? He abused us and we left," Ngunjiri said.

Despite the warning from Jubilee vice chair David Murathe, who threatened disciplinary action against those who fail to attend the meeting, Ngunjiri maintained that he would not attend.
