On June 21, 2020, Chelsea returned to Premier League action with a thrilling comeback victory over relegation-threatened Aston Villa, solidifying their position in the top-four race.

The match saw Chelsea dominate the first half, but Aston Villa took the lead when Kepa failed to hold Anwar El Ghazi's shot, allowing Kortney Hause to bundle in the goal.

However, Chelsea fought back with two goals in quick succession, with Christian Pulisic smashing Cesar Azpilicueta's cross into the roof of the net, and Olivier Giroud driving in from 15 yards with a slight deflection.

The win restored Chelsea's five-point advantage over Manchester United and Wolves, who are fifth and sixth respectively in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa remains in the relegation zone, one point from safety after taking one point from their first two games back following the resumption of the Premier League.
