On a typical day, three enterprising Kenyan women can be found at local markets, sourcing fresh produce for their innovative online food delivery service, Eazy Pizi Fruits and Veggies.
Established during the Covid-19 pandemic, the business has gained significant traction, with customers appreciating the convenience of having fresh fruits and vegetables delivered right to their doorstep.
According to Pillie, one of the group's members, the business initially faced significant losses before they adapted their strategy to connect farmers directly with consumers.
"It wasn't as great or as lucrative as we thought it would be. Actually, we made a huge amount of losses the first time we started out," Pillie noted in an interview on June 20.
However, the trio persevered and introduced innovative packages called baskets, which bundle various vegetables and fruits together to make them more affordable.
They also engage with customers through social media and online platforms, sharing valuable content on healthy living and nutrition, which has helped build a loyal client base.
Despite facing challenges such as market disruptions and lack of recognition due to their age, the women have managed to establish a thriving business that is making a positive impact in their community.
