On June 21, 2020, Kenya's Covid-19 cases reached a total of 4,738 after 260 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced the increase during a daily Covid-19 briefing at Afya House in Nairobi, stating that the number of tests has been rising every month since the first case was reported 100 days prior.

According to Kagwe, the Ministry of Health released 550 individuals from hospitals for home-based care after completing a 14-day mandatory quarantine at isolation facilities.

As of the briefing, 1,607 people had recovered from the virus, with 123 deaths reported nationwide.
