Published on June 21, 2020, Nairobi Hospital's decision to drop Jubilee Insurance from its list of cover providers has sparked a heated exchange between the two parties.

Nairobi Hospital had claimed that Jubilee Insurance owed it Sh357 million in outstanding claims, dating back to 2018. The hospital alleged that the insurance company had failed to pay bills amounting to Sh33 million in 2018 and Sh47.8 million in 2019.

However, Jubilee Insurance has refuted these claims, stating that the hospital has failed to justify payment of Sh80 million. The insurance company alleged that the hospital has been uncooperative in resolving the impasse.

"The hospital failed to justify payment of some bills adding up to about Sh80 million compared to an approximate business of Sh1 billion per year. We have been keen to resolve the impasse with the hospital who unfortunately have not been forthcoming," Jubilee Insurance said in a statement.
