On June 21, 2020, the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) issued a statement expressing concern over the increasing rate of teenage pregnancies in Kenya.

According to the statement, issued by Nyahururu Bishop Rt. Rev. Joseph Mbatia, the Church urged parents to take care of their children and protect them from sexual exploitation.

The Bishops also opposed the introduction of sex education in schools, citing that it would not curb teenage pregnancies.

Furthermore, the Church demanded the withdrawal of the abortion bill in the Senate, stating that the issue of abortion is not debatable.

During a celebration of the Holy Mass aired live on KBC, the Bishops also called upon the government to support bereaved families to bury their loved ones in dignity while ensuring social dignity is observed.

Additionally, KCCB appealed to Kenyans not to stigmatize those who recover from Covid-19.

The Bishops congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for Kenya's win as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

His Eminence John Cardinal Njue was also present during the mass.
