Meet Mama Fua, the Digital Mother Who's Helping Families in Need ¶
Lucy Gatimu, also known as Mama Fua, has taken it upon herself to help the poor in her community, where some families have gone for days without a proper meal.
With the support of netizens on social media, Gatimu from Uthiru was able to collect food and other essentials that would help the less fortunate put food on the table.
Published on June 21, 2020, at 12:30 PM, Gatimu thanked netizens for their tremendous support, asking them to continue being there for each other in times of need.
She shared a message on her Twitter asking those who could offer a helping hand to the less fortunate in her community by donating food and other essentials to contact her.
Gatimu explained that many from her community depended on odd jobs that were not available due to the impact of COVID-19.
Many netizens came forward offering to give whatever they could get, and Gatimu shared pictures of some of the items she had received and had given to those in her communities.
"Thank you to everyone who is sending me food even to those who have promised, even a packet of Unga or a kg of rice is a miracle to a certain family," she wrote.
In just a day, Gatimu was able to collect enough food for five families that would last them two days and urged Kenyans to continue sharing with the needy.
"I am grateful for you honoring my request at least today, five families in my hood will have two days food because of your love. Continue sharing the little your have with these needy people and God will never forget this deed," Gatimu added.
