Tea Auction Sees Slight Price Hike Amid Increased Sales

On June 15th and 16th, 2020, the Mombasa Tea Auction saw a substantial increase in tea sales, with 13.4 million kilograms offered for sale, up from 9 million kilograms during the same period in 2019.

Of the tea offered, 10.7 million kilograms were sold, a significant increase from the 6.6 million kilograms sold in the same period in 2019.

Despite the increased sales, the auction saw a marginal increase in prices, with an average sale price of $1.78 per kilogram, up from $1.77 during the previous auction held on June 8th and 9th, 2020.
