On June 20, 2020, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria took to Twitter to share his ordeal with the deep state, claiming he had received death threats.
According to Kuria, the deep state was using a blogger named Weston Wanjohi to send him threats, reminiscent of the assassination of politician Josiah Mwangi Kariuki (JM Kariuki) in 1975.
He also linked the deep state to the murder of IEBC ICT Director Christopher Msando, who was found dead in Muguga Forest in Kikuyu, Kiambu County on July 31st, 2017.
“Deep state using Harambee House blogger Weston Wanjohi to threaten me with assassination JM Kariuki style. And DCI will still not act on this. Like father like son,” Kuria wrote.
“Msando was killed by the same system that killed JM.”
JM Kariuki was found dead in March 1975, days after he went missing in Nairobi. His burnt body was discovered dumped beside the Lake Magadi Road.
Msando, on the other hand, was found dead in Muguga Forest in Kikuyu, Kiambu County on July 31st, 2017, a day after he was abducted in Nairobi by unknown people.
