A Father's Legacy ¶
As I sit on my third-floor balcony, overlooking a bustling fish market, I'm reminded of the sacrifices my father made for our family. The smell of fish wafts through the air, but it's the people in the market that bring a smile to my face.
My father's profession has come a long way since the days of goat slaughter. I recall the early morning calls to fetch the goat, the semi-dark banana grove, and the overwhelming smell of blood. But it's the lessons he taught me that have stayed with me – the importance of providing for one's family, no matter the cost.
Today, my father runs a successful butchery from home, a venture we jointly own. He sources live animals from the community, while I handle distribution to retail outlets and institutions. It's a business made easy by the New Co-op Internet Banking, which allows me to manage our account and make real-time payments.
As Father's Day approaches, I'm reminded of the sacrifices my father made for our family. He's a true example of selfless fatherhood, and I'm grateful for the lessons he's taught me.
