Nairobi Hospital has suspended the medical services of Jubilee Insurance policyholders following a Sh357m debt dispute.
The hospital's CEO, Dr Allan Pamba, confirmed that the insurance company owed the hospital Sh357m as of May 31, accumulated over a three-year period.
Dr Pamba stated that the hospital had suspended Jubilee Insurance's account due to the insurer's failure to clear the debt, despite several meetings.
According to Dr Pamba, the hospital still had outstanding payments of Sh8.8 million for the 2018 and 2019 packages, as well as Sh96 million owed by Jubilee Holdings Limited since the beginning of 2020.
However, Jubilee Insurance disputed the hospital's claims, stating that the suspension was due to a dispute over Sh80 million in billing that the hospital failed to justify.
Jubilee Insurance management stated that the company had been keen to resolve the matter but the hospital had not provided the necessary information.
The insurer emphasized the importance of transparency in billing and promised to continue providing quality medical services to its clients.
