On June 20, 2020, Kenya reported two coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the country's death toll to 121, representing a case fatality rate of 2.7 percent.

Despite the increase, the death rate has remained relatively under control for a month, with 1,586 patients recovering from the virus since April 1, including 36 patients discharged between June 8 and 13.

The case fatality rate has fluctuated, averaging 2.9 percent between June 8 and 13, and dropping slightly to 2.6 percent between June 17 and 20, down from 5 percent and 3.4 percent recorded in April and May respectively.

With 4,478 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the first diagnosis on March 13, there are 2,771 active patients undergoing medication, including those under home-based care.

Health officials have attributed the high number of recoveries to the tremendous work done by health practitioners, who have been managing patients at home through home-based protocols.

Health CAS Aman praised the dedication of healthcare workers, saying, 'We want to salute and thank health care workers for their commitment and dedication as they continue to serve members of the public in this response.'
