On June 20, 2020, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane downplayed the significance of Barcelona's goalless draw against Sevilla, which handed his team the opportunity to move above them in the La Liga table.

Barcelona's slip-up on Friday means that a win for Real Madrid against Real Sociedad on Sunday would see them take the top spot, thanks to their superior head-to-head record.

Gerard Pique acknowledged the difficulty of winning the league, stating that it would be 'very difficult to win this league' and that Real Madrid might not drop any more points during the run-in.

When asked about the implications of Barcelona's draw, Zidane remained nonchalant, saying, 'Nothing changes.' He emphasized the importance of focusing on the next match, rather than speculating about the title race.

Real Madrid have been in good form, beating Eibar and Valencia since the return from the three-month suspension. Karim Benzema has continued his impressive season, scoring 21 goals in 38 games, including two against Valencia.

Speaking about Benzema's performance, Zidane said, 'I don't think much has changed with Karim, maybe just his age and experience.' He praised Benzema's work ethic and ambition, stating that he gives the team 'so many things' beyond just scoring goals.

Marco Asensio also made a positive impact in his first appearance in a year, scoring with his first touch after coming on against Valencia. Zidane expressed his happiness with Asensio's return but cautioned that he needs to take things slowly after a serious injury.
