On June 20, 2020, Eugene Anangwe, the Chief Executive Officer of TV47, announced his resignation from the television station.
According to his social media statement, Anangwe had been the CEO since TV47's launch in July 2019.
"Goodbyes! Not so many people if not everyone wish for moments to say them; certainly me included! But these things are inevitable and I have come to that point myself- where I say goodbye to my team at TV47," Anangwe stated on Twitter.
Although Anangwe did not disclose the reasons behind his departure, he expressed pride in his work and urged his colleagues to continue upholding the station's vision.
"Setting up TV47 from scratch was definitely a new challenge and I am happy that I had all of you to help me in building the brand that TV47 is today. My plea to all of you is to never let this ship sink. Make it sail on for generations that will come after you so that they can also have a place to practice great journalism and tell the untold stories," Anangwe added.
Several colleagues wished Anangwe well in his future endeavors, praising his work ethic and vision.
Before joining TV47, Anangwe worked in Rwanda for 10 years, serving in various media houses including Contact FM and Rwanda Television.
