Published on June 20, 2020, Laikipia Women Representative Cate Waruguru has sparked a heated debate on Twitter by claiming that Deputy President William Ruto is running a parallel government to sabotage President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Waruguru's comments come after Ruto opened a parallel Jubilee Party office, dubbed Jubilee Asili, which has been seen as a move to undermine the President's authority.

According to Waruguru, Ruto owes over 10 million Jubilee supporters an apology for his actions, saying that he has 'asked for impeachment and will get it served hot.'

Waruguru, who was once a staunch Tanga Tanga footsoldier, has now aligned herself with the Uhuru-Raila axis and is seen as a key player in the ongoing power struggle within the Jubilee Party.

Her comments have sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling for Ruto's impeachment and others defending his actions as a legitimate move to assert his authority within the party.
