On June 20, 2020, a Kenyan social media user, Ndegwa Maina, sparked a frenzy with a photo recreation project that imagined Kenyan celebrities and politicians as the opposite sex.
From MC Jessy to Huddah Monroe, several celebrities have shared their reactions to the project, with some expressing amusement and others choosing to remain silent.
MC Jessy, for instance, shared a photo of himself and wrote, 'Who can gerrit kwa hawa wote??😂 Nakuambia ningekuwa nakula hizo fare zenyu😂😂😂.'
Other celebrities, including Akothee, Fena, Nyashinski, and Ringtone, have also shared their thoughts on the project, with some praising their opposite-sex versions and others expressing skepticism.
King Kaka, who was dubbed 'Queen Kaka' in the project, was quick to point out that money had been poured into the project but added that he had fun seeing his female version.
He wrote, 'Money has been poured. Sawa Sawa nimeona DM zote na all the tags. Mahali ntakutana na mwenye alijenga hii kitu. But nimecheka wah!!!'
