On June 19, 2020, DJ Evolve, whose real name is Felix Orinda, sat down with The Standard to share his side of the story. It's been nearly six months since the incident at B-Club in Kilimani, where he was shot by Emabakasi East MP Babu Owino.

According to DJ Evolve, he has come to terms with what happened and is now focusing on his recovery. He expressed his gratitude to Kenyans for their prayers and support, saying, " Yaliopita si ndwele " (nothing is impossible).

He also shared a glimmer of hope, stating, " I'm glad and I feel hopeful. I can now see light at the end of this. Sometimes I feel my legs. That makes me know that God is working on me ".

It's worth noting that Babu Owino had previously denied any wrongdoing in the incident, which is still pending in court. In a heated interview with Punchline on Anne Kiguta's K24 talk show, he accused Anne of being in cahoots with the DPP to have him re-arrested.
