On June 19, a tragic incident unfolded in Kitengela, Kajiado County, where a middle-aged man allegedly strangled his girlfriend.
The suspect, who has not been named, hailed a boda boda at 5am on Saturday and instructed the rider to take him to a forest in Changombe area to dump a 'unwanted house item'. However, unbeknownst to the rider, the 'item' was actually the victim's body, wrapped in a bedsheet and placed in a polythene bag inside a gunny sack.
When the boda boda operator became suspicious of the passenger's luggage, a disagreement ensued, and the suspect fled, leaving the body behind.
The rider, shocked by the discovery, raised the alarm, and neighbours were alerted. A report was filed at Kitengela Police Station, and the authorities launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Isinya Sub-County Police Commander Kinyua Mugambi confirmed that investigations into the woman's murder have begun, and the deceased was taken to Nairobi's City Mortuary upon her family's request.
