Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has a new Director-General, effective June 18, 2020: Eng. Silas Kinoti. He has been serving in an acting capacity since September 2015.
With over 20 years of experience in the public sector, Eng. Kinoti has overseen numerous key road projects across Kenya. He holds a Master's in Business Administration Degree from KCA University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi.
Eng. Kinoti is registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya and is a corporate member of the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK). He joined KURA in 2009 as manager (Roads) and was later promoted to General Manager (Planning and Environment) before his appointment as Director-General.
Transport CS, James Macharia, welcomed the appointment, saying, 'I wish to congratulate Eng. Kinoti on his appointment. We are confident that his skills and wealth of experience will drive KURA forward.'
