On June 20, 2020, a microblogger named Aoko Atieno sparked controversy with a Facebook post alleging that Kenyan socialites were recruiting young women into prostitution.

Kenyan socialites, often referred to as high-class hookers, have a history of getting exposed during international trips to Dubai or Nigeria.

These women, who have made a living by selling their bodies, often find themselves in a difficult situation as they age and lose their attractiveness to high-paying clients.

As a result, they turn to recruiting young women, who are often desperate and willing to engage in prostitution, into their network.

Corazon Kwamboka, a Kenyan socialite, has spoken out against the practice, advising young women to be cautious and not to fall prey to these schemes.

Despite the controversy surrounding Kenyan socialites and prostitution, it is clear that the industry is a complex issue that requires a nuanced approach.
