Published on June 20, 2020, a heart-wrenching story emerged from Nyeri, where a couple, Simon Ndung'u and Mary Nyambura, was left with no choice but to offer their two children for adoption due to financial struggles.
The couple, who have a two-year-old and a ten-month-old child, has been finding it increasingly difficult to get odd jobs to feed their family since the COVID-19 pandemic started.
Simon Ndung'u, in an interview with NTV, expressed his willingness to give up his children free of charge to anyone who can provide for them and ensure they never miss a meal.
"I have failed to provide my children with food, even clothes. So, I have decided to look for someone who can take care of my two children free of charge," said Mr. Ndung'u.
He further explained that life has become unbearable, and he has resorted to this decision due to the hardships he and his wife are facing.
"I thought life would be better, but it has become tough since my children were born. I even have to follow my wife to her sister's place to look for a place to sleep because I don't have a place to take her," Mr. Ndung'u said.
His wish is that his children get something to eat, and he hopes that someone will come forward to help them.
