Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has dropped a bombshell over Deputy President William Ruto's strategy to gain political foothold in the Mt Kenya region.

According to Waruguru, Ruto's camp has been running a parallel government to undermine that of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Waruguru, who was a vocal supporter of Ruto's Tanga Tanga brigade since 2017, made the allegations in a series of tweets on June 19.

She claimed that Ruto's strategy involved turning Mt Kenya leaders against the president, and that the DP was running a parallel government to undermine the president's administration.

Waruguru stated that she had been a part of Ruto's camp since 2017, but had since abandoned it after a period of soul-searching while on maternity leave.

She warned Ruto that his actions could lead to his impeachment, saying, 'We elected HE Uhuru, not Ruto. With ur Asili shenanigans you have just asked for impeachment and you'll be served the impeachment hot.'

Waruguru also accused Ruto of owing Jubilee supporters an apology for having a parallel party by the name Jubilee Asili.

Her sentiments came two weeks after she decamped from Ruto's Tanga Tanga brigade and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Waruguru's decision to leave Ruto's camp was seen as a significant blow to his efforts to gain support in the Mt Kenya region.

She stated that she had decided to leave Ruto's camp because she wanted to focus on development projects in her constituency, rather than taking her people to the opposition.
