On June 19, 2020, Barcelona played out a goalless draw against Sevilla in an empty Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, marking their first dropped points since the season resumed after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The match, played behind closed doors, saw Barcelona's Lionel Messi fail to reach his 700th career goal, coming closest with a first-half free kick that was headed off the line.

Sevilla's Sergio Reguilon had a chance to snatch a winner in added time but hit the ball into the ground, allowing Barcelona's Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to make a comfortable save.

Barcelona's 0-0 draw at Sevilla meant that they remained top of the LaLiga standings with 65 points from 30 games, while Sevilla moved up to third place with 52 points.

Real Madrid, who are second in the standings with 62 points, can move above Barcelona if they beat Real Sociedad away on Sunday due to their superior head-to-head record.
