On a day when the world was still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Premier League resumed behind closed doors, with Southampton taking on Norwich City at Carrow Road on June 19, 2020.

Southampton's Danny Ings opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a curling effort inside the penalty area, his 16th league goal of the season.

Stuart Armstrong doubled the visitors' lead in the 54th minute with an accurate shot that squeezed just inside the left-hand post and outstretched arm of goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Nathan Redmond sealed the win for Southampton in the 79th minute with a deserved goal after a fine individual performance, dropping his shoulder to round the Norwich defence and shooting across the keeper to net.

The victory lifted Southampton above Newcastle United into 13th place on 37 points from 30 games, while Norwich City remained bottom of the table with 21 points, six adrift of the safety zone and having played a game more than their relegation rivals.
