As schools remain closed, a worrying trend has emerged in Nairobi: an alarming increase in petty crimes committed by school-going teens.

According to Nairobi Regional Police boss Philip Ndolo, most of the reported cases involve primary and secondary school learners, with numbers that are 'really alarming.'

Speaking to Nairobi News on June 20, 2020, Mr. Ndolo appealed to parents to monitor their children's activities and warn them against engaging in crime.

His warning comes just two days after a student at Kamiti Secondary School was caught stealing a mobile phone, with a video revealing that the student had been stealing with two friends and selling the items to a Form Four student.
