Corona crisis has hit Mombasa courts, with 11 staff members testing positive for COVID-19. The affected staff are among 117 cases reported on June 19, 2020 by the Chief Justice David Maraga.

According to Maraga, the affected staff are court officials handling cases. Additionally, 118 other officials who came into contact with them have been found and will be quarantined immediately as per the Ministry of Health guidelines.

Maraga noted that the affected courts are the main Mombasa court and the Tononoka Children's Court.

However, Maraga assured that court services will continue online for anyone in need of urgent assistance.

It's worth noting that court services in Mombasa were suspended about a week after they resumed on March 24, 2020 following a COVID-19 outbreak.
