June 19, 2020, marked a significant day for the Jubilee Party as Deputy President William Ruto's allies refuted claims of ditching the party.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, a close ally of Ruto, stated that the Jubilee Party is a precious investment that Ruto cannot leave. Murkomen's sentiments were echoed by Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, who said they had gotten a new office after being blocked from Jubilee Headquarters by a few mandarins.
According to Murkomen, the Jubilee Asili Centre will be the new meeting point for party members who have been locked out of the party headquarters located in Pangani. He emphasized that Jubilee Party is their party, their labour of love and visionary investment, whose fruits they look forward to enjoying.
"Ignore the rumours doing rounds. Jubilee Party is our party, our labour of love and visionary investment, whose fruits we look forward to enjoying. Jubilee Asili Centre is the meeting venue for and by members who have been denied access to our party office on Thika Road. Tuko Sote Pamoja!" Murkomen said in a tweet.
Senator Susan Kihika also echoed similar sentiments, stating that they will use the new location to promote the original idea of Jubilee. "We agreed as Jubilee Leaders to establish Jubilee Asili Center, a meeting point for members who feel disenfranchised after a few mandarins blocked us from accessing our Party Office on Thika Road. At this Center we shall continue promoting the original idea of our Jubilee Party," Kihika tweeted.
Other Ruto allies, including Tanga Tanga blogger Dennis Itumbi, also expressed their support for the new development. Itumbi described the Centre as the home of the original Jubilee idea and the new home for meetings and ideas.
