On June 19, 2020, the Kenyan Ministry of Health announced that 117 more people had tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 4,374.
According to Rashid Aman, the Ministry's spokesperson, the new cases were confirmed after 3,043 samples were tested within 24 hours.
Speaking at Afya House, Aman stated, "Within 24 hours, 3,043 samples were tested, and 117 people have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,374."
Of the 117 new cases, 112 are Kenyan citizens, while five are foreigners.
Additionally, Aman announced that 91 more patients have recovered and have been discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 1,550.
