On Thursday, Deputy President William Ruto unveiled the Jubilee Asili Centre, sparking rumors of a possible defection from the Jubilee Party. However, in a tweet, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen sought to clarify the situation, urging the public to ignore these rumors.
Murkomen explained that Jubilee Asili Centre is a meeting venue for members who have been denied access to the Jubilee Party Headquarters, not a new party under the tag 'Jubilee Asili'. He emphasized that Jubilee Party remains their party of choice.
DP Ruto had held a meeting with ousted leaders at the Jubilee Asili Centre on Thursday, consoling them after they were removed from Parliamentary and Senate committees. In a statement, Ruto thanked the leaders for their service and urged them to continue focusing on Jubilee's people-centered transformational agenda.
Senator Murkomen's tweet read: 'Ignore the rumors doing rounds. Jubilee Party is our party, our labour of love & visionary investment, whose fruits we look forward to enjoying. Jubilee Asili Centre is the meeting Venue for & by members who have been denied access to our party office on Thika Road. Tuko Sote Pamoja!'
