June 19, 2020, marked a significant day in the ongoing crisis within the Jubilee Party, as Deputy President William Ruto's faction took a bold step towards charting its own path.
Following a meeting with MPs who were recently dewhipped by the party, Ruto posted a new slogan – 'Sote Pamoja' – which was retweeted by the MPs, indicating a clear break from the Jubilee Party.
Just days prior, the party had signed cooperation agreements with Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Party and Issac Rutto's Chama cha Mashinani, further fueling speculation about the party's future.
However, in a tweet on Friday, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen sought to allay fears, stating, 'Ignore the rumors doing rounds. Jubilee Party is our party, our labour of love and visionary investment, whose fruits we look forward to enjoying.' He added, 'Jubilee Asili Centre is the meeting venue for and by members who have been denied access to our party office on Thika Road. Tuko Sote Pamoja!'
