Mike Sonko's Special Message ¶
On the occasion of his 21st marriage anniversary, Governor Mike Sonko took to social media to share a heartfelt message with his fans and followers.
He drew inspiration from the late President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza and his wife Denise, who were married for many years despite humble beginnings.
According to Sonko, the couple's perseverance and hard work paid off, and they went on to rule the country for years.
He shared a photo of the couple, who lived together in a single room for many years, and wrote:
As I celebrate my 21st marriage anniversary today with my wife Primrose, I would like to encourage all the young couples to emulate the late President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza and his 1st Girlfriend Denise Nkurunziza who until his death was his wife and the 1st Lady of Burundi.
Sonko also emphasized the importance of couples living together and starting a family, saying that family is sacred and couples should not let small disagreements tear them apart.
He shared another photo of himself and his wife, and wrote:
Nanyinyi wanaume respect your girlfriend/wife. Unaweza lala njaa siku kadha. Do not leave him because he is broke or in prison. When Raila Odinga was in detention Ida Odinga didn’t dump him, also when I was in Prison my wife Primrose never left me.
Among those he appreciated for their long-lasting marriages are Vice President William Ruto and President Uhuru, who have been with their wives since day one.
He shared a photo of the two couples, and wrote:
President Uhuru and William Ruto walivumilana na bibi zao Margret and Rachel for so many years, look at what they are today? Life has ups and downs, but if the two of you stick together, you will look back at such photos, and say- wow! Make your girlfriend/wife/partner happy during this cold season na wale wako na kitambi itisheni mukoberoo from western don’t use viagra and your marriage/relationship will never be the same again.
