On June 19, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta made a significant move in the Office of the Auditor General by nominating Nancy Janet Kabui Gathungu as the next Auditor General.
Ms Gathungu will take over the helm from Edward Ouko if approved by the National Assembly.
According to a State House communication, Ms Gathungu was the top choice among the three candidates presented to the President for nomination by the recruitment panel.
The President has forwarded her name to the National Assembly for vetting, as required by law.
