What is TIMS? ¶
The Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) is an online platform that offers various services, including car inspection booking, duplicate logbook application, and vehicle registration. With a TIMS account, you can access these services at any time and location, eliminating the need to travel far and stand in queues for hours.
Services Offered by TIMS ¶
Having a TIMS account gives you access to the following services:
- Car inspection booking
- Duplicate logbook application
- NTSA PSV license application and renewal
- Vehicle registration
- Application for a reflective number plate
- Conducting an online car search
- Motor vehicle booking
- Drivers' training curriculum and guidelines
- The Kenya driving book
- Confirmation of vehicle ownership transfer
Requirements for Registration ¶
To create a TIMS account successfully, you will need the following:
- A computer or smartphone with working internet
- Original ID card
- KRA pin
- Phone and phone number
- Opening a TIMS account is free, and you only need to pay for the services you choose to carry out in a cyber.
Steps to Registering for a TIMS Account ¶
Follow these steps to register for a TIMS account:
- Go to your phone or computer browser and type in ntsa.go.ke
- Land on the homepage of the NTSA/TIMS website and familiarize yourself with the page
- Choose the 'Individual' option and proceed
- Enter your ID serial number, which is found on the top left corner of your ID card
- Click 'verify' and fill in the required information, including your KRA pin, mother's maiden name, and phone number
- Enter the authorization code sent to your phone and verify
- Fill in the remaining information, including your county of residence and email address
- Press 'Next' and TIMS will send you a password via text
- Go back to the homepage, choose the log-in option, and enter the password sent previously
- Enter the code sent to your phone and click 'sign in'
- When your account successfully opens, go to the top right corner of the page and click on your name
- Choose the 'change password' option and put in a password you will remember
- Once you are successful, you can now operate and access all available TIMS services
Remember to log out your account when using public computers and do not share your password with anyone to avoid identity theft and other malicious acts.
