Applying for a TSC number in Kenya is a straightforward process that can be completed online. The first step is to ensure you have all the required documents, which include certified copies of your primary, secondary, and tertiary education, a valid certificate of good conduct, a GP 69 medical form, your national identity card, KRA pin, and a passport-sized photo.

Before applying, you need to make a bank deposit of Ksh 1055 for a first-time applicant or Ksh 2055 for a duplicate certificate. You can make the payment through direct banking or via MPESA using the National Bank of Kenya account details: TSC-Secretariat, account number 01001005707400, and PAYBILL number 625625.

Once you have made the payment, scan and save all the required documents in PDF format to upload to the TSC portal during application. To apply, go to teachersonline.tsc.go.ke, fill in your ID number and surname, and click on the 'next' button. Then, fill in all the required information, including your email address, phone number, and KRA pin, and upload the scanned documents and submit your application.

After submitting your application, you will need to wait at least 30 days to find out whether your application was successful or not. Unfortunately, applications do not always go through, and some applicants may receive negative results after the 1-month wait. The reasons for failed applications include lack of enough academic credentials, presence of bad conduct or outstanding criminal charges, medical proof showing the applicant unfit to be a teacher, and submission of false information.
