On a fateful Thursday night in Vipingo, Kilifi County, a miracle unfolded when a 2-week-old baby was found alive after being thrown into a 30-foot pit latrine.

According to eyewitnesses, the baby was discovered at 11pm by the school's security guard, Katana Charo, who heard a baby crying beneath the latrine floor.

Charo recounted, 'I only heard a baby crying beneath the latrine floor, and when I looked into the pit, I saw an infant wrapped in a white baby blanket floating on human waste. I alerted other people, who came to the scene. One of the Good Samaritans, identified as Kahindi Buyo, offered to skillfully remove it from the lavatory.'

The baby was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, where doctors confirmed its body functions were unaffected.

Investigations into the incident have commenced, with Junju Location Chief, David Kahindi, stating that the school's security footage will be reviewed to identify the perpetrator.
