On June 18, 2020, a foreigner found himself in a precarious situation after being confronted by an angry Kenyan mob in Nairobi.

The mob, fueled by the death of George Floyd, an African American murdered by police officers in the United States, cornered the foreigner in a rental apartment compound.

According to a video shared on social media, the foreigner was reportedly engaging in unidentified illegal business when the mob descended upon him.

As the situation escalated, the foreigner pleaded for mercy, claiming his life was in danger and bringing up the George Floyd case.

"I hate you all. I will kill all of them. Get me out of here. They are blaming me for the death of George Floyd," the foreigner lamented while making calls to an unknown receiver.

However, the mob was not swayed by the foreigner's pleas, with one woman begging the security guards to open the gates and let the mob in.

"Wacha agongwe. Si io gate ifunguliwe. Uyu jamaa anatukana watu hapa." (He is abusing us. Let the security guards open the gate and the have the mob assault him)," a member of the mob was heard rallying others.

The incident raises concerns about racism and the rule of law in Kenya, particularly in the wake of protests that erupted in Nairobi after police were accused of brutality and racism.

George Floyd died after a white police officer pinned his neck to the ground, forcing him to suffocate, sparking a worldwide protest.
