On June 18, 2020, Tatu City marked a significant milestone in its development journey with the launch of Unity West, its first low-cost residential project.

The multi-billion shilling property developer has certified the first 48-unit apartments, housed in four high-rise blocks, fit for occupation.

Unity West is the first phase of a 1,200-unit residential development that will offer a range of amenities, including a badminton court, a mini basketball court, and a playground.

Future developments will see the addition of a two-acre park, infinity pool, gym, coffee shop, and a commercial centre.

Another 48 units are set to be ready for occupation in October 2020, while 384 units are expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

Tatu City has attracted multinational investors who have set up light industries within the property, as well as high-end homes.

The property developer is also working on the high-end Kijani Ridge residential development, which is undergoing infrastructural development, including road paving and water pipe laying.

“Eight hundred metres of water pipes, designed for 45 customers, are being laid in Kijani Meadow. At the same time, the contractor in Kijani Slopes is working on grading, road formation, storm-water drains and road filling,” Tatu City said.

Interestingly, sales have risen during the coronavirus period, with more families living in apartments buying plots to put up homes in spacious fenced-off areas.
