On June 18, 2020, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko took to social media to exact some karmic revenge on a former police boss who played a part in his dramatic arrest in Voi last year.

According to Sonko, former Voi Base Commander Michael Mureithi manhandled him during the arrest at the Voi Airstrip, which was against international aviation laws.

However, in a twist of fate, Sonko posted a video of Mureithi being manhandled by a woman demanding child support money, with the amount awarded by the children's court being Ksh 300,000.

The video shows the woman accusing Mureithi of refusing to pay the child support, and at some point, the former cop attempted to punch her but members of the public intervened.

Being the petty character Sonko is known to be, he posted an edited video showing both Mureithi's embarrassing situation and his equally embarrassing arrest in Voi.

In a statement accompanying the video, Sonko offered to assist Mureithi with the money, stating that he does not support domestic violence but is willing to help his former colleague resolve his situation.

He further advised Mureithi to accept his fatherly responsibility for the child and offered to pay for the upkeep awarded by the children's court.

Additionally, Sonko extended his philanthropic hand to another officer who manhandled him during the arrest, who has a kidney problem.
