On June 18, 2020, Kenya's Ministry of Health reported 10 coronavirus-related deaths, raising the country's death toll to 117.
This marked the highest number of deaths recorded in a day since COVID-19 was first reported in the country, according to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman.
At the same time, the country recorded 106 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,459.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 4,257 after 213 more cases were reported, out of 6,024 analyzed samples.
The cases included 198 Kenyans and 15 foreigners, with the youngest case detected in a one-year-old and the oldest patient aged 73.
According to Aman, 151 of the patients were male while 62 were female, with cases distributed across various counties.
Kenya has tested a total of 130,498 samples for coronavirus, with globally reported cases exceeding eight million, recoveries over four million, and deaths reaching 450,000.
