Published on June 18, 2020, Kenya has recorded 213 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 4,257.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, the surge in positive cases is largely due to increased testing efforts.

With reagents now available, the health authorities are able to conduct more tests daily, contributing to the higher number of cases.

During the daily Covid-19 briefing, Dr. Aman also announced that 106 patients have been discharged, raising the total recoveries to 1,459. Unfortunately, the death toll rose to 117 after 10 people died in the last 24 hours.
