On June 17, 2020, Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri expressed disappointment following the Coppa Italia final loss to Napoli. The match ended goalless in normal time, with Napoli winning the shootout 4-2.
Speaking to RAI, Sarri attributed the loss to the team's lack of sharpness, stating that Cristiano Ronaldo, along with other players like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, was not at his best.
'He's in the same shape as the others, like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, he is lacking the sharpness to do what works best for him,' Sarri said.
Despite the loss, Juventus remains in a strong position to win Serie A, sitting top of the table but just one point ahead of Lazio. They will resume their campaign on Monday with a trip to Bologna.
Sarri acknowledged that the team was missing a few players and had to make different choices due to their suboptimal fitness levels. He emphasized that the team's inability to turn possession into scoring opportunities was a major issue.
'We keep the ball well, but lack the sharpness to turn that into dangerous scoring opportunities,' Sarri said.
