Kenya Power's customers endured long hours of misery on Thursday due to a technical hitch that affected some of its services.

The hitch, which occurred on June 18, 2020, impacted pay bill and prepay payment services, leaving many customers unable to buy tokens to keep their power on.

According to a statement released by Kenya Power on Thursday, the technical hitch affected prepaid token generation, post-pay bill requests and payments, and any services provided when dialling 977#.

Customers who tried to pay their postpaid bills through the phone experienced challenges, with many left frustrated by the inconvenience.

Kenya Power apologised to its customers for the disruption, promising that normalcy would be restored soon.

This incident comes just a month after the country experienced a nationwide outage due to a system disturbance on the transmission network.
