On June 18, 2020, a peaceful demonstration was held in Kabatiro slums, near Kutus town, where residents expressed their support for Governor Anne Waiguru amidst the ongoing impeachment proceedings.

According to the residents, the impeachment process was being handled by the Senate, and it was not necessary for politicians to politicize the issue further.

One resident, Gicobi Ndathi, stated, "After the MCAs passed a motion to have our governor impeached and forwarded the matter to the Senate, no one should be politicizing the process again but wait for the process and its outcome without hyping emotions."

Residents claimed that the ongoing public utterances were prejudicial to the impending impeachment by the Senate and urged the Senate to drop all the trumped-up charges against Waiguru to enable her to complete her remaining period.

Julius Muchiri, another resident, said, "If Waiguru were to leave office, what can anyone achieve in just two years? It's only fair that we give Waiguru some breathing space to complete her pre-election pledges and not to cut her off midway."
