Chioma Rowland, the wife of Nigerian singer Davido, has responded to allegations of domestic abuse against her husband. In a statement, she denied the claims, stating that she has never experienced any form of abuse in her relationship with Davido.
According to Chioma, the allegations are false and have caused her concern. She advised women to never stay in abusive relationships and to speak up if they are suffering from abuse.
“I know you guys absolutely love to spread all sorts of rumours and stories for your entertainment and i’ve known from day 1 what to expect from blogs and the internet especially with myself and family being in the public space,” Chioma said.
She continued, “Never has there ever been an incident of abuse in my home. He has never in his life lifted a finger to touch me and i have never so much as even pushed him.”
Chioma emphasized the importance of speaking up against abuse, stating that domestic violence and abuse is no joke and should never be taken lightly.
“To the beautiful young ones out there, never ever allow a man to lay his hands on you while you keep quiet. If you were ever to suffer such, ensure you speak up!” she wrote.
Chioma's statement comes after rumors broke out that Davido might be abusive to his wife and that the couple may have parted ways. The rumors also claimed that Davido allegedly welcomed a fourth child with a different woman identified as Larissa.
Chioma's response has been met with mixed reactions, with some people expressing support for her and others questioning the authenticity of her statement.
