South Africa's Covid-19 Cases Continue to Rise ¶

South Africa has reported a significant increase in Covid-19 cases, with 2,801 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
This brings the total number of cases to 76,334, with 57 more deaths reported, taking the death toll to 1,625.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has warned that the country will see more deaths related to Covid-19 in the coming days as infections surge.
At a press briefing, Mkhize emphasized the importance of individual behavioural changes in preventing the spread of the pandemic, urging South Africans to wear masks, wash hands, and maintain physical distance.
"It needs the entire buy-in of individuals, communities, societies, cultures and various social groupings," Mkhize said.
The Health Ministry has launched a new multi-sectoral ministerial advisory committee to oversee social behavioural change and facilitate fair access to quality healthcare.
