Kenyan singer Akothee has made headlines for her unconventional parenting approach, serving her children alcohol to protect them from being taken advantage of by men.
According to Akothee, she wants to empower her daughters, Vesha and Rue Baby, by giving them the confidence to make their own decisions and not be swayed by men who might try to take advantage of them.
She shared a photo of herself and her daughters having a drink, accompanied by the caption: 'I serve my own children alcohol so that no man will dangle a bottle of champagne on their faces and make it look like a very special drink to make one lower their panties.'
Akothee's fans have been divided on the issue, with some praising her for her bold move and others criticizing her for introducing her children to alcohol at a young age.
One fan, Xheri Sherie, wrote: 'Exactly mom! That's what I do to my sister's anytime I go out for a drink. I never leave them behind and have seen it work. They are like no man can take us for granted in the name of can I buy you a drink or can I take you out for a date.'
Another fan, Soi Cate Chelang, shared a similar experience, saying: 'Somewhat it makes sense. I told my girl once she's 18yrs old I'll buy her myself, I'll even take her out asione no big deal kupelekwa na mwanaume.'
However, not everyone is in support of Akothee's decision. Some have expressed concerns about the potential risks of introducing children to alcohol at a young age.
