A witness in a high-profile property dispute between two brothers in Nairobi has gone missing, sparking concerns about the integrity of the case.

The witness, Kennedy Odari, a security guard, was set to testify in a case involving brothers Raji Singh Gill and Jasbir Singh Gill, who are embroiled in a multi-million shilling property dispute.

According to Raji Singh Gill, 66, Odari was intimidated and could not appear in court to testify, leading to the case being withdrawn.

‘I have reason to believe that my witness was threatened or compromised in a bid to defeat justice. He could not appear in court to testify and as a result, the case could not proceed,’ Raji Singh Gill said.

The two brothers are involved in a number of criminal cases against each other, and Odari was also a witness in two other cases.

Following the withdrawal of the case, Raji Singh Gill claims that his family is living in fear of threats from his brother and his son.

‘My family is living in fear. The accused, who is my kin has continued to threaten me with dire consequences from the time the case was terminated prematurely,' Raji Singh Gill said.

The case was before Kibera Chief Magistrate Joyce Gandani, and the accused, Jasbir Singh Gill and his son Alvider, denied the charges.
