On June 18, 2020, a rift in the Jubilee Party deepened as Deputy President William Ruto's allies continued to distance themselves from the party's leadership.

Popular blogger Dennis Itumbi, who was recently sacked as a digital director at State House, has been sending mixed signals about his allegiance to the party.

Itumbi shared a banner on his social media pages featuring the Jubilee Asili logo, which displays the party's colours as green instead of the traditional red associated with the Jubilee Party.

The banner also retains the trademark handshake visible on the original Jubilee Party logo, but lacks a slogan, unlike the Jubilee Party's 'Tuko Pamoja'.

The development comes amid a power struggle between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, Ruto, which has led to the removal of senior party members from influential positions in the Senate and National Assembly.

Furthermore, the original Jubilee Party has signed coalition deals with other parties, including Kanu, Wiper, and Chama Cha Mashinani, in a move that has reportedly dimmed DP Ruto's chances of succeeding President Kenyatta from within the party.
